In this leadership role, you will oversee all tax-related matters for the European entities and act as the central point of contact for internal stakeholders and external advisors.
Head of Tax Key Responsibilities:
- Providing comprehensive tax guidance across corporate income tax, VAT, payroll tax, and withholding tax matters
- Ensuring accurate and timely preparation and submission of tax returns and compliance obligations
- Identifying tax optimisation opportunities and advising management on strategic tax planning initiatives
- Supporting contract negotiations and business projects from a tax perspective
- Designing and enhancing internal tax-relevant processes (e.g., employee benefits, company events, mobility concepts)
- Structuring new entities and projects in a tax-efficient manner
- Overseeing group-wide tax reporting in accordance with IFRS and HGB requirements
- Managing tax audits and liaising with tax authorities
- Leading, developing, and motivating the internal tax team
- Coordinating and steering external tax advisors where required
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field with a focus on taxation or accounting
- Successfully completed Steuerberater qualification is advantageous
- Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in a corporate tax department or an international audit/tax advisory firm
- Strong expertise in German tax law and solid knowledge of IFRS and HGB
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to guide teams effectively
- High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluent German and English skills, written and spoken
- Structured, independent working style combined with strong analytical skills and resilience
